Bespoke wooden displays for retail and POS
A display is often the first point of contact between a customer and a product. Even before the purchase, it catches the eye, organises the space and conveys quality.
Designed in wood and made to measure, it goes beyond its functional role: it becomes a true expression of your brand.
BA CONCEPT designs and builds, in our premium bespoke woodworking workshop, bespoke wooden displays for shops, brands and retail chains looking for an alternative to standard solutions. Every creation is designed around your visual identity, the products you want to showcase and the real constraints of your sales area.
Our wooden displays and POS
Every project starts with thinking about use, product and customer experience. Format, dimensions, materials, finishes and personalisation techniques are defined together to create a perfectly suited support. Three formats, three distinct goals
Display
Glorifier
Podium
Display: functional and attractive, multi-product, for counter, wall, window or free-standing use. Typically used for cosmetics ranges, jewellery, accessories or brochures.
Glorifier: compact format, focused on ONE product, premium finishes – lighting, foil, inlays, material contrasts. Usually used to showcase a perfume bottle, a watch, a piece of jewellery or a premium bottle.
Podium: large volume, architectural effect, holds products, displays, décor and glorifiers. Found in shop windows, product launches, shop-in-shops or trade fairs.
Floor displays and centre displays
A wooden floor display structures the sales area and naturally draws attention. Totem, column, island or central display: each element boosts product visibility while blending into the shop’s style.
In solid oak or veneered wood, combined with other premium materials, our pieces combine stability, strength and quality finishing. Volumes, display levels and presentation areas are tailored to the products.
A central store display creates a stopping point in the customer journey while keeping smooth circulation around the product.
Counter displays and product displays
A counter display plays on proximity: within reach and at eye level, it triggers impulse purchases or highlights a flagship range. Placed right next to the customer, a wooden counter display is key to showcasing a collection, a new product or a high-value item.
We make custom displays with compartments, integrated holders, laser engraving on wood, cut-outs or brand elements. Every detail can be adapted: dimensions, angles, display depth and finishes.
For counter display furniture, the finish comes first. Chamfered edges, visible or hidden mortise-and-tenon joints, fabric or leather bases: every detail is agreed with the client beforehand.
Glorifiers, podiums and premium presentation
A glorifier is the setting for a single product. A wooden glorifier creates a dedicated space around a flagship item: bottle, collector’s piece or premium creation. It catches the eye, raises perceived value and gives the product a presence standard shelving cannot offer.
A POS podium works on another scale: it stages an entire range, marks a launch and creates a focal point on the sales floor. In solid wood with integrated LED lighting, it turns a corner of the shop into a stage.
Materials and finishes
Solid wood and fine veneers
We only work with materials selected for their quality and durability. Material choice is not just about looks: it determines lifespan, weight, transport constraints and ease of maintenance in store.
- Solid oak : available in several shades, from natural to dark. Pronounced grain, proven strength.
- Walnut : warm, deep tone, ideal for luxury and fine food settings.
- Maple : fine grain, light tone, perfect for minimalist or Scandinavian settings.

Marking and personalisation techniques
A wooden display without brand identity is a missed opportunity. In our workshop we master six personalisation techniques, often combined on a single piece:
- Laser engraving : precision to a tenth of a millimetre, matt or high-contrast depending on the wood
- Digital printing : faithful reproduction of brand guidelines, gradients and photographs
- Laser cutting : cut-out or openwork shapes, raised lettering
- LED lighting : integrated backlighting, illuminated outlines, direct product lighting
Combining these techniques on one piece – engraving + foil + LED, for example – is precisely what sets a craft-based bespoke POS maker apart from a catalogue supplier.
Sectors and use cases
Our wooden displays and POS serve very different sectors that share one requirement: the support must live up to the product.
- Retail and concept stores : central displays, totems, display furniture in limited runs or one-offs
- Fine food and wine shops : bottle glorifiers, tasting podiums, counter displays in walnut or solid oak
- Perfumery and cosmetics : product displays in maple or lacquered MDF, integrated LED lighting, gold finishes
- Luxury and jewellery : bespoke boutique displays, one-off pieces, wood and metal combinations
- Pharmacies and drugstores : modular floor displays, integrated signage
- Hotels and restaurants : menu holders, merchandise displays, reception totems
FAQ
What is the difference between a display, a glorifier and a podium?
These three POS formats serve different goals. A display presents several products in an organised way: floor-standing, wall-mounted, counter or free-standing. A glorifier isolates and showcases a single product (perfume bottle, watch, vintage bottle) with premium finishes (foil, lighting, inlays). A podium works on another scale: it creates an architectural focal point on the sales floor for a launch, a window or a shop-in-shop. All three can be combined in one roll-out, all made to measure in solid or veneered wood to suit your positioning.
Which woods do you use for POS and displays?
Our range includes solid oak (several shades), walnut, maple, veneered MDF, poplar plywood and 3-ply spruce. The choice depends on the desired look, target weight, transport constraints and brand positioning. We advise you on the best material for your project from the first conversation.
What are your production lead times?
For a standard project, allow 3 to 5 weeks after proof approval. More complex projects usually need 6 to 8 weeks. We give you a precise lead time with the quote.
Do you take small runs or one-off orders?
Yes. We make one-off pieces (for a launch, a window or an event) as well as larger runs for a network of stores. As a premium B2B craft workshop, we naturally focus on high-value projects rather than mass industrial production.
